Carl Jung’s concept of archetypes suggested that within all of us, certain energies are alive. Many wisdom paths have explored ways in which we contain the magic and power of the Lover, the Warrior, the Artist, the Caregiver, the Hero, the Explorer, and more. Each kind of energy within us will be encouraged by the world that shapes us – or it will be discouraged by the world that shapes us.

The archetypal energy I’m often the most interested in helping people claim is their inner Sovereign.

The Sovereign within us is an energy that is about seeing clearly, judging what is best, and choosing what to do.

It’s about accessing the will and the power to claim that our life is for us.

I have worked with hundreds of people who’ve lost their power.

Their power was silenced or stunted or shamed out of them, by the family they came from, the schools that educated them, the trauma that harmed them, the experiences that molded them, or the religion that informed them. That’s what formed the Story that told them to be small. These people then went into the world and found jobs and partners and patterns to replicate the small-scale Story.

But one day, they have an awakening. Sometimes it’s through pain and tragedy. Sometimes it’s because of a teacher or voice that offers hope. Sometimes it’s because the Sovereign energy within them has simply waited long enough.

Whatever it is that causes them to question the Story, I’m glad.

We can begin finding how the Story kept them small …

and locating and honoring the Sovereign within them, that’s awakened.

Your Sovereign is always ready to serve Who You Truly Are.
