It was powerful to be in a space of love and kindness; to be gently nudged to offer a situation that was in my life and to be heard so deeply; this was so affirming.

Story work offers an opportunity to identify our self-limiting beliefs and imprisoning personal narratives. Only when we can name them, can we begin the hard but necessary work of setting ourselves free.

I’ve had the privilege of working with Rick Diamond as a student in two of his classes in a Spiritual Direction program. He is truly a gifted teacher who is able to create a safe space for people to show up authentically and vulnerability. He does this by modeling it himself. I’ve also witnessed Rick put together a men’s retreat for our spiritual center. He was professional, engaged, creative and committed during both the planning process and the retreat. I heard nothing but praise for his facilitation skills and his heart-opening presence. Finally, Rick spoke at my spiritual center and shared a Sunday message for our community that was relevant and inspiring. He is the real deal!

Rick is a true partner in the work he undertakes. He led our annual Board of Trustees retreat with such success that we asked him to facilitate our strategic planning process. Count on Rick to challenge assumptions, call you out when your values don’t match your actions and stand by you when difficult conversations must be had. His ability to envision with us a more expansive future for our organization and those we serve was invaluable. Equally important, Rick helped us create detailed plans and processes to achieve it.

I loved having a sacred space to share my story, and have someone really guide me with thoughtful questions. As I went through the process, I appreciated how there always seemed to be a deeper story under what first came up for me.
